Happy Halloween Everyone!
So what's the deal with airline food? I mean, so what's the deal with Halloween? I admit that it is pretty cool. I really like reading about how the Romans combined their traditions from this time of year with the Celts, etc. However, most candy is not too healthy for you and there are only so many cool Halloween TV shows and movies to watch.
For example, let us remember the movie "Hocus Pocus". You ask why I reference a movie that is named after "magic words" that supposedly (it is debated) derive from what a person would hear when receiving the body of Christ (Latin: hoc est enim corpus meum) in Roman Catholic Mass? (Sorry, I guess I subconsciously wanted to make that reference because those of you who remember the movie know it is not good.) Who was the target audience for that movie anyway? It has the mindset of a children's film but themes better suited for pre-teens/teens. I mention this because I saw it running on one of the "family-oriented" channels (either Disney or ABC Family) and I wondered why it was on at all.
I guess that is the bottom line: Halloween is a good time to show TV programs and movies that are not good enough to be shown regularly. Consider this: Omri Katz is much better in the TV show "Eerie, Indiana" (sorry, I could not resist mentioning it again) and that has not been shown on TV this decade. (Keep in mind, the entire series of "Eerie, Indiana" is available on DVD.) Unfortunately, Hocus Pocus shows up every Halloween showing nothing particularly outstanding. For those who have visited Salem, Massachusetts: you do remember your visit(s) there as you watch the film so that is always good.
Happy Halloween!
